On 25th September 2022, it was our honour to have District Governor RI District 3300, Dr. Krishna Kumar launch the Multi-sensory Therapy Classroom at SK Dato' Laksamana Raja Mahkota, accompanied by the District First Lady PAG Pushpa Krishna. The President of RC Teluk Intan, Rtn Gurunathan Neelamaygam, the Headmaster of SK Dato' Laksamana Raja Mahkota, Madam Rohana Mohamed Nor and Assistant Governor (AG) Chandrasegaran Ramasamy attended the launching ceremony as well.
Our club, together with the Rotary Club of Bandar Utama applied for the Global Grant from The Rotary Foundation (#GG2231898) was successful. Total amount we received from The Rotary Foundation is USD$40,500, each joint club received USD$6,667 for a school.
SK Dato' Laksamana Raja Mahkota is a government primary school which offers special needs education to students who are autistic, have attention-deficit/hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), attention deficit disorder (ADD), are slow learners, have down's syndrome, Dyslexic, and have any cognitive condition from the community.
There are special needs trained teachers at the school and they guide special needs students from 7 years old to 13 years old.
