On 11 August 2016 Rotarian Paramanathan was installed as the 65th President of the Rotary Club of Teluk Intan by District Governor Darul Abdullah. One hundred and twenty Rotarians and guests attended the banquet at the Lower Perak Club. Among those present were Interactors from the four Interact Clubs, Principals and Teacher advisors. The Rotary Club of Yala, Thailand was represented by eight members led by their club President Yossakorn Teppabut. Also present were members from the Rotary Club of Trichy, India; Rotary Club Sitiawan, Rotary Club of Seri Changkat Jong, Rotary Club of Lake Gardens Kuala Lumpur and Rotary Club of Greentown.
The aim of this project is to ensure that there are adequate number of trained people in the community who are able to provide First Aid and CPR till medical help arrives. This will save many lives that are lost because no active First Aid and CPR is provided during a medical emergency. On 19 September 2015, 150 students and members of the public were trained by trainers from the St. John Ambulance. After the theoretical lectures they had to practise the skills that they had learned on mannequins. Those certified competent were awarded certificates. 18 members of the Rotary Club of Teluk Intan participated. The Guest of Honour was the local State Assemblyman. The project generated good publicity.
On 1st August 2015 Rotarian Gopalkrishnan Manickam was installed as the 64th President of the Rotary Club of Teluk Intan by the Outgoing President Dr. Chanderpal Kaur. One hundred and twenty Rotarians and guests attended the banquet at the Lower Perak Club. Also present were 10 members from the Rotary Club of Yala, Thailand, Interactors from the four Interact Clubs, Principals and Teacher Advisors.
The Guest of Honour was PDG Dr. Rajindar Singh and he represented the District Governor.
President Gopal praised Dr Chandra and her Board of Directors for the great work that they had done. His plan for the year is to strengthen membership, carry out community projects and support The Rotary Foundation.
The highlight of the evening was the induction of seven new members. PDG Dr Rajindar Singh inducted the following as members of the Rotary Club of Teluk Intan:
